SmartBoards are used in my classroom to help with instruction. This year we have a new science, math, and social studies curriculum that each utilizes an online portion that can be used for both in class instruction as well as students using it at home.
IVDL
Although this is not commonly used, it is a great tool to have at our school. Interactive Video Distance Learning (IVDL) allows teachers and students to connect with other students around the world to share projects and collaborate with. It has been used to share an activity called Monster Directions where a group of students gave drawing directions to the class they connected with. After all of the directions were given, each group of students shared what their drawings looked like and compared them. A link to the website can be found here. Monster Project
